Why We Love Aromatherapy at GHRI
When the body has been running “on alert,” small signals matter. Slow, intentional touch—paired with a thoughtfully chosen essential oil sequence—can help the system downshift. Research suggests aromatherapy (often via inhalation and/or massage) may help with sleep quality and stress/anxiety symptoms for some people. This is one of our favorite visits for people who want a calmer baseline, easier breathing, looser shoulders, a quieter mind, and a “reset” feeling without intense bodywork.
AromaTherapy
Our aromatherapy treatment blends three complementary approaches into one cohesive experience: a gentle, rhythmic application of essential oils along the back and feet; a “drop-by-drop” layering technique along the spine with feather-light strokes and soothing warmth; and a focused, system-informed oil sequence tailored to your current goals (physical, emotional, or both).
You’ll stay comfortably draped on the table while we we apply diluted essential oils in a specific flow along the spine, shoulders, and feet using light-to-moderate touch. It’s not about deep pressure. It’s about calming inputs to the nervous system, supporting relaxation, and creating a deeply restorative sensory experience through aroma + touch. Some oils are layered in gentle “drops” along the back, followed by feather-light strokes to spread and settle the oils.
We finish with a soothing warm compress and quiet integration time so your nervous system can absorb the experience—physically and emotionally.
